This is a relatively straightforward fullspeed Marbles level with only one precise jump.
Optimal
- The "Escalator" jump at 0:07.5 is the most difficult maneuver in the stage. You can use the roots of the tree to position the jump. Make sure to high bounce off the penguin, then jump off the Raybow as soon as you land. The Raybows spawn based on a global cycle, so if you slow down at the start of the level (including dropdashing with Checkers instead of swapping to Marbles and spin-dashing) you will often miss the cycle. Swapping to Marbles at the start of the level does not disrupt the timing, as the game freezes during swaps. If you miss the Escalator, standing in the corner and waiting for the next cycle only loses about 2.5 seconds, which is faster than switching to Checkers and quad jumping up.
- Shell jumping past the cannon at 0:19.5 is faster than riding it.
- At the end of the stage, use the coins to line up the jump off the Raybow. If you have not lost speed throughout the level, the Raybow at the 4th pair of coins will appear consistently. This Raybow will still appear if you missed the Escalator at the start, as you will just be in the same position of the next cycle.
Assuming you swap at the start of the level, you should be able to get 30 consistently here.
Checkers route
Since Checkers is required for the levels before and after this level, playing this level with Checkers saves 1 second of swapping back and forth. However, Checkers is likely still slower overall. Here is a video demonstrating a viable Checkers route for anyone who's interested.
