This is another stage where the secret exit sends you to Laamp's Shade, and therefore the normal exit must be taken. This level features some tricky Marbles platforming and a poorly positioned camera which makes "site-reading" the level difficult and encourages memorization.

Optimal

It is very important to be aware that getting launched by the Thrillhexes does not send you at full speed and therefore you want to avoid them whenever possible. If you hit one, you will need to spin-dash to regain maximum speed.

  • You need to either slow down to roll under the first Thrillhex, or jump over it (getting launched to the right). In either case, you will then need to spin-dash again to regain maximum speed. Both strats take nearly the same amount of time, with jumping over possibly being a few frames faster. It may be possible to jump clear over the Thrillhex without getting launched, which would be optimal, but it's too precise to be viable.
  • Be careful at 0:04.5 and 0:15 when doing a small roll followed by a piggyback. If the inputs are entered in a specific way it's possible for the piggyback input to get eaten. If this happens at the earlier location you can just ride the Thrillhexes up if you miss the shell jump. If this happens at the later location you can launch right on the first Thrillhex, then shell jump.
  • Make sure to land on and jump off of the rock at 0:06.5 to clear the spiked Pip wheel. If you jump from the earlier platform you will need to glide to avoid taking damage.
  • It is possible to accidentally clip through the slope at 0:07.8. If this happens, you should easily be able to jump back up to the platform.
  • Doing one midair spin-dash from the raised platform below the bonus at 0:12.5 lines you up to reach the next platform with a full height jump and no gliding.
  • You want to be about 60-80% of the way across the small platform at 0:15 before executing the piggyback, jump, shell jump and glide. This will set you up to land directly on the cannonball. If you take damage, there is a buddy bubble up ahead.
  • It's possible to go under the P-shooter and skip the cannon, but the cannon is faster.
  • After landing from the cannon, do not spin-dash. You will regain max speed with a simple roll, which will set you up for the next jump. Do a full-height jump and glide from a few pixels off the edge of the platform. After bouncing off the Cawbie, continue holding jump and release glide. This should consistently take you to the right side of the top Thrillhex.
  • As the Thrillhex reduces your speed, it's necessary to spin-dash again to recover speed. After the spin-dash at 0:23, do a small jump to cross the descending platforms while going under the bees. The platforms can also be crossed by using a midair spin-dash while over the gaps.
  • Positioning yourself (blindly) to land on the edge of the platform at 0:29 without hitting the spiked Pipwheel is tricky. In general, a small jump and brief glide is needed. The tree in the background is a useful position indicator. Tap and re-press attack to get a midair spin-dash to cross under the bees. If you're not comfortable with this part, you can simply shell jump from the higher platform at 0:28.2 to go over the wall of bees.
  • Be very careful not to miss the Thrillhexes at the end, as missing one and falling means restarting the level, losing lots of time. You can spin-dash out of the last one to reach the goal a little faster. You could also swap and play this part with Checkers, as Checkers will be needed in the next level.

A time of 36 or better is good on this level.
